Bringing a jingle God out of retirement
In order to create a bit of noise about the 45th birthday of the Egg McMuffin the right way, we needed someone really good. Thankfully, well-known songwriter, composer, and jingler Roger Greenaway was extremely happy to come out of retirement for the occasion.
Greenaway, known for the popular song “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke”, aided with giving a ’70s feel to the sounds. The rest was up to the visuals. Myself and a group of creatives altered pre-existing footage to appear as though it had been taken right from 1973—thus proving the timelessness of the classic breakfast item.
As part of the promotion, 7" single Eggs-tended Play records were given out, complete with throwback design, ingredient sleeves, and egg-white vinyl. It’s certainly a great, kitschy addition to any record collection.
